Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak
Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak rose from under the sea in a volcanic eruption over 100,000 years ago. Located on the eastern end of Jeju Island, there is a huge crater at the top of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak. The crater is about 600m in diameter and 90m high. With the 99 sharp rocks surrounding the crater, it looks like a gigantic crown. While the southeast and north sides are cliffs, the northwest side is a verdant grassy hill that is connected to the Seongsan Village. The ridge provides an ideal spot for walks and for horse riding as well.
The sunrise from the crater is magnificent. Also the Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak surrounded by bright yellow colored rapeseed flowers in the spring is truly a sight to behold.
The famous activity that takes place everyday at Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak is watching the sunrise from the crater. This activity has become famous as Seongsan Sunrise Festival since 1994. It attracts lots of tourists for three days starting from December 31 tol January 2, every year. During this festival, as time moves towards the midnight on December 31, people surround the performance stage, set up at Seongsan Sunrise Peak. For celebrating the New Year, a torchlight show, a campfire and fireworks are set. Another important aspect of this festival is a traditional ritual called gut. As soon as the sun of the New Year rises, a golden tape is cut. The visitors are also entertained with various types of performances held on the performance stage. Other events that are held here include a mounted police parade, a mandarin orange eating contest and a ‘pungmul’ performance.

Haeundae Beach, Busan
sm
Haeundae Beach is probably the most famous beach in the country. "Haeundae" was so named by scholar Choi Chi-Won (857~?) of the Silla Dynasty (BC 57~AD 935). When he was walking past Dongbaekdo Island, he was fascinated by it and left the carved words "Hae Un Dae" on a stone wall on the island. Haeundae is 1.5 km long, 30~50m wide, and spans an area of 58,400㎡. The white sand is rough and sticks easily to your skin. The sand of this beach is composed of sand that comes from Chuncheon Stream and shells that have been naturally eroded by the wind over time.
Haeundae Beach is also famous for the various cultural events and festivals held throughout the year. At Haeundae Beach there is a Folk Square where you can enjoy traditional games such as neoldduigi (seesaw jumping), Korean wrestling, tuho(arrow throwing), tug-of-war and yutnori. Hugging 2 person at sime time??
On February 27, a screen capture titled “Kim Soo Hyun Has Everything in the World” made its way to
several online communities, causing a buzz. In the photo, “The Moon that Embraces the Sun’s” Kim Soo Hyun embraces IU and miss A’s Suzy at the same time at one of the year-end award ceremonies.
Both known and loved as the “nation’s little sister,” IU and Suzy are former co-stars of Kim Soo Hyun. The three had starred in popular drama KBS’s “Dream High” in 2011. While he has thrown much of the Korean female population into a “Kim Soo Hyun syndrome,” hugging two of the nation’s little sisters did not earn him any points from IU and Suzy's male fans.
Netizens commented, “I’m not jealous of Kim Soo Hyun…I’m jealous of Suzy and IU,” “Hugging both of them at the same time? Quite greedy haha,” and more.
Currently, Kim Soo Hyun stars in the popular series “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” with Han Ga In and Jung Il Woo.
